COMING ATTTRACTIONS

 Montana Elk at Sunrise

You may have to travel a bit to get to an AKC dog show this weekend, but many Americans will have a dog show nearby for the first time in months.   Our only four day set is in Helena MT where the Gallatin Dog Club and the Helena Montana Kennel Club will team up for the Thursday through Sunday stop.    You can get three all breeds and an all Toy show at the Purina Farms complex in Gray Summit MO, 40 miles west of St Louis.  The Gateway Toy Dog Fanciers, the Spirit Of The Heartland Kennel Club, the Jefferson County Kennel Club Of Missouri, & the St Louis Dog Breeders Association will host.

New Englanders have a three show weekend that will require you to pack up the SUV more than once.  It starts with the Newtown Kennel Club & the Ox Ridge Kennel Club Friday & Saturday outing in Shelton CT and then continues with the Northwestern Connecticut Dog Club in Goshen CT, 45 miles north.  If you are in Pennsylvania, you can opt for Sunday with the Valley Forge Kennel Club in Kimberton PA, 30 miles west of Philadelphia, or opt for two days with the Butler County Kennel Club in Prospect PA, near the Ohio border.

We will have the first all breed show in Florida since mid July, the West Volusia Kennel Club’s two shows in Deland FL, this weekend.   If you are in the Chicago IL metro area, try heading up to Plymouth WI for two days with the Sheboygan Kennel Club or down to Columbus IN for Saturday/Sunday with the hometown Kennel Club Of Columbus Indiana.  Lubbock TX, site of this weekend’s Heart Of The Plains Kennel Club’s two shows, is about equal distance (around 350 miles)  from Dallas TX, Oklahoma City OK, or Albuquerque NM.

Those out west who aren’t in Montana will be in either Aurora CO for two with the Arapahoe Kennel Club, in Shelton WA for a weekend with the Gig Harbor Kennel Club, or in Cerritos CA for the Santa Ana Valley Kennel Club’s double header.  This may be the best chance many in Mid America have of seeing the country’s top dogs.  Wherever you are, you will see splendid purebred dogs at an ALC dog show.
